Join Castle Cruises & Travel and Tauck Tours to learn the
fine points in selecting an escorted tour. Escorted tours offer both the
independence and security of traveling with a group in a foreign country.
Arrangements from start to finish generally include accommodations,
sightseeing, some meals and often a balance of structure and flexibility. With
the plethora of tour companies and selections of tours how do you select the
perfect tour and get the most for your money?
In these days of hard economic times you want
to be sure that your vacations are exactly what you have been dreaming of all
these years, and not anything less. By attending this free seminar, we will
instruct you on how you can take the vacation of a lifetime while still saving
enough money to bring back bountiful souvenirs for friends and family. Often we
can save money when traveling to foreign countries as part of a group. When
selecting a tour and a tour company it is of upmost importance to look beyond
the destinations, the date and even the price.
To get a better grasp on what you would want to
look for in a European trip, let's compare it to a foreigner who is looking to
spend a vacation in New York City. Where should he book his hotel? Newark, New
Jersey will be cheaper than staying in Times Square, however he will not be
able to stroll through Manhattan, taking in the nightlife of Greenwich Village.
Should he take a private tour which includes the double-decker busses, lunch at
a café, and tour guide? Will he be better off to walk the streets of
Manhattan, take his time and use smaller group tours in the museums, and dine
in an authentic Chinese restaurant in Chinatown? A bus trip venturing away from
the city to the Woodbury Commons and Sugarloaf would be an interesting twist to
the New York experience. These same questions apply when selecting tour options
in cities outside of the United States.
We will learn by example during our seminar to
examine the tour selections carefully. Beyond the location of the hotels, city
center or in the countryside, we'll show you how to determine how much
structured time is included and how much free time. Tour travel is available
via motor coach or trains, we'll discuss the pros and cons of each kind of
travel.
Of course sampling the
cuisine in a foreign country is one of the highlights. As a general rule,
breakfasts are included in your tour package. The breakfast may consist of a
hot buffet typical for an American breakfast or cold buffet more typical for a
European style hotel. Very rarely are lunches included leaving you to choose
whatever and whenever to enjoy this meal. At night, the number of dinners and
the setting will vary by tour and tour company.
